Some photographs from this year's Pie and Peas Run and a write up by Mick Leach.  I thought is was good social evening with a meal and the usual raffle raising funds for local charities.👍  Eddy.

After some re-arranging of a double booking on the Tuesday evening Ruth and I were on our way to Burton but not by our usual route because Shobnall Road was closed at the A38 underpass.  I remember thinking that the evening run could be interesting because we would not be able to turn left out of Marston's, I need not have worried as there must have been a plan in place.

On arrival at Marston's there were already quite a few there and others soon arrived after us, apparently totalling 20.  Dave Gould was run leader and he briefed us on how we were going to get out of town and that we would be using second man drop off.

We were soon out of the built-up area beyond Anslow and past Needwood airfield through Newborough to Bromley Wood.  We did a sharp left here and a right into Pinfold Lane, this road was a bit testing the sun was in my face and I had the constant fear of being dug in the ribs by Ruth if I were to hit a pothole.  On to Blythbury where we turned in a homeward direction into Yoxall, up school hill towards Barton under Needwood.

Just when you could almost smell the pies there was Andy Roberts stopped at the side of the road gesticulating.  We went back to investigate and there was Ray Furness skillfully tie wrapping the other half of Andy's rear carrier to the seat of the Honda.  We picked up the trail through Tatenhill and over the A38 at Branston and back to Marston's where we all enjoyed pie chips and peas.

Thank you to Dave Gould leader, Richard Ballard tail end Charlie and Brian Slack for organising the meal.  Mick Leach.
