Easy Does It Run 2025 - Sunday 6th July 2025
Dave Gould has sent this report on the Easy Does It Run. There are two photographs, the first, before the rain from Ray Furness and the second from Dave Gould as the slightly damp riders set off for home from the Donington coffee stop. Well done lads. Eddy.
Sunday morning arrived wet and dreary so I took the decision to delay the start time by one hour as the forecast promised clearer skies by then. To make matters worse I had damaged my back when hitting a pothole whist riding my Rudge Ulster during Friday’s funeral cortege at Brian Slack’s funeral so I decided to ride my 250 Honda as it would be more comfortable.
Having collected the usual £1 for our chosen charity, 10 bikes left the start at Marstons Club. The weather was at least dry as we headed for Tatenhill then Barton before turning left towards the A38 and onwards towards Walton. We got as far as Catton Park when the heavens opened up on us. After a short ride on A513 we turned left for Harleston, then Clifton Campville, No Mans Heath, Austrey, Orton on the Hill to Twycross. We went into and out of Bilstone, Congerstone, through delightfully named Barton in the Beans to join the A447, left to Ibstock and across the A511 towards Swannington, Pegs Green, Griffy Dam and then to Donington Park. This was our coffee stop at the Superbike Factory.
After a natter and a bite to eat we made
the return journey to Burton via Melbourne, Ticknall, Milton and
Repton where we said our goodbyes.
Thanks to all of you who braved the rain and especially to Mick
Leadenham for back marking and his help planning the route.
Dave Gould.
