APMC Leicestershire Lanes Run 2022
Mick Dughan has sent this report. Eddy.
I Just got
back from the APMC Leicester Lanes Run
We met at The Appleby Inn where coffee
was served for those who needed a booster, and the lunch time
meals ordered. Route sheets were provided by
Chris Chant, although quite a few decided to follow
someone reliable, in our case Mick Leach.
There were 20 bikes including one
combination with passenger and one classic car with driver and
passenger, giving a total of 22 participants, of which at least
half were Burton and District regulars.
As the name implies the route took us
round many lanes visiting numerous Leicestershire villages with
strange names. Some lanes were familiar but many were new
to me and I lost count of the number of humpback bridges we went
over where old railways had been or over canals.
After around 40 miles we arrived back at
The Appleby Inn where we all enjoyed our lunches served on time
in the newly refurbished restaurant.
Thanks to Chris Chant for organising the
run again.
