A Grand Day Out 2017
Brendan reports:
Or a wet day out! Some great roads on a route devised by Mick Leech with a stop for breakfast at Prees Heath. That wasn't the first stop, Vic had developed a misfire that took a couple of roadside stops to sort. A loose H.T. lead was the problem, an easy fix once identified.
Then through Llangollen to Bala and over Rhos-y-Gwaliau to Lake Vyrnwy and a tea stop. It was wet over the tops, we seemed to have ridden up into the clouds but as we dropped down the lake it dried out for probably the best period of weather during the day.
All the pictures were taken at the Lake Vyrnwy stop. The man Dana is talking to is an ex BSA employee.
The return journey took us through Wem for a refreshment stop at The Royal Oak, Eccleshall and then through Stone where the rain started again. This time it was heavy rain leaving a lot of standing water.
We were back home after eleven hours and 225miles. Thanks To Mick Leech for organising and leading. Brendan.
