Easy Does It Run 2026

John Earp sent the report below and two photographs. It was an excellent run with Dave Gould setting a good pace and incorporating a couple of very brief stops just in case that last cup of tea had reached the bladder.😉 Eddy.

Setting off from home around 09.20 I travelled via Anslow to join the Easy Does it Run starting from Marston’s at 10.00hrs.

Dave Gould had organised and was leading the run and just before ten he explained a few ‘obstacles’ we would meet during our ride and told us the run was approximately 50miles with a couple of stops to re-group and would finish at the Donnington Superbike Factory Cafe.

For a change the 12 bikes set off from Marston’s with a left turn and proceeded towards Tatenhill, Barton and Walton. Then through Catton Park with a left turn to Harlaston.

First obstacle - we entered a temporary traffic light area but we had no light our way so were unaware until a 4x4 flashed us that the light was actually against us - even though there wasn’t one - If you’re lost by this - so was I!

Anyway on we went towards Clifton Campville and Twycross where we had a short break to re-group before we were once again on our way.

We now headed into Leicestershire on roads I used when returning from Huggy’s at Mallory on a Wednesday through Barton in the Beans, Heather and eventually over the A511 Coalville/Ashby rd towards Peggs Green, Belton and Diseworth to Donnington Superbike Factory.

At Donnington we parked up at the cafe in glorious sunshine and proceeded to the cafe for a cuppa and I’m told Vic was eyeing up a Honda!

After a chat some went home from the cafe back to Marston’s for a pint but I decided to go straight home and my total mileage for the day was 74 miles which was similar to Dave who clocked 72 miles.

Thanks for a lovely day Dave and Mick Leadenham (back man) and once again it never rained and I’ll look forward to next year.
